5집 Morrison Hotel (앨범 설명은 여기 참조)의 4번 째곡, A면 4번째 곡이다.

이 노래는 가사가 나오기 전에 음악부터 만든 곡이다. 로비가 기타 리프를 만들었는데 이 곡에 넣을 가사를 짐이 내놓지 못했다고 한다. 그러다가 레이가 짐의 공책에서 'Abortion Stories (유산의 이야기들)'이란 시를 찾았고, 짐은 그 시를 갖고 가사를 만들었다. 존 덴스모어에 의하면 짐과 팜에 대한 은유라고 한다. (출처: '여기서는... -  재리 홉킨스, 대니 슈거맨', '라이더스 온 더 스톰 - 존 덴스모어')

짐과 팜 그리고 어려서 목격했던 인디언의 교통 사고 그리고 몇 개의 사건들이 얽힌 가사라고 보는 것이 맞을 듯 하다.
'Blood in the streets in the town of Chicago' 는 1968년 시카고에 있었던 민주당 전당 대회에서의 유혈 사태를 말한다. 어떤 사건인지는 여기를 참조. "Blood in the streets of the town of New Haven"은 1967년에 짐 모리슨이 뉴헤븐에서 체포된 것을 말한다. 무대 뒤에서 여자랑 있는데 경찰이 뭐하냐고 묻자, 아무것도. 라고 대답하자 경찰이 다짜고짜 최루액을 뿌리고, 체포했다는 것이 알려진 사건이다.
